Arrives new group of Timorese students of medicine will end his career in Timor.

The first group of 30 students, more than 190 who were still in Cuba attending the last years of a medical career, arrived in the afternoon to Timor Leste to complete their studies and graduate as medical doctors.

At the reception attended Díli International Airport Ambassador of Cuba in this sister nation, Luis Julian Laffitte, the Chief of the Cuban Medical Brigade, Dr. Osvaldo Castellanos and the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Ana Carmen Valdes Vento.

In airport lounges, students held a brief and cordial meeting with the Cuban ambassador and other officials of the island, where they discussed the progress of his studies, his health and the attention they received in Cuba.

This first group of over 150 students who remain in Cuba, will culminate the fifth and sixth year of the race in Timor Leste, which may be more familiar with typical ailments of the country and most recurrent disease, many of which, known in Cuba only in literature.

With this arrival, continues to march steadily, the commitment of Cuba and our Commander in Chief of to cooperate in solidarity with Timor Leste to the application that will make their authorities, to train more than 1000 Timorese doctors for a population of just over one million people.
