 Lecture on Cuba’s foreign policy at the Bandaranaike International Diplomatic Training institute.

Cuba’s foreign policy background, recent developments, and challenges ahead were showcased to the students of the Bandaraike International Diplomatic Training Institute by the Cuban Ambassador to Sri Lanka, HE Florentino Batista on March 19th, 2015..

The conference, attended by over one hundred students, encompassed the origins and characteristics of the US blockade against Cuba, the accomplishments of the Cuban Revolution on the international arena, as well as the internationalist traditions and collaborations programs executed by Cuba worldwide, especially on the health sector.

On January 19th, 2015, it was commemorated the National Day of Cuba, 56th Anniversary of the Triumph the Revolution. As Guest of Honor, the Honorable Rajitha Senaratne, Minister of Health and Indigenous Medicine, congratulated the people of Cuba and its leader, an pointed out the brotherhood relations between the two nations for over 2 decades. On the Cuban side, Ambassador Florentino Batista reiterated the good wishes for the Sri Lankan people and the new government on behalf of President Raul Castro, and expressed the desires of continuing strengthening and expanding the bilateral relation.
