X Anniversary of the St. Lucia - Cuba Friendship Association is celebrated.

Saint Lucia, September 1, 2015. On August 28, 2015, an activity was held in Castries, the capital of St. Lucia, to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Humanistic Solidarity Association Saint Lucia-Cuba, created on the same date of 2005. The event was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Honorable Philip J. Pierre and the Ambassadors of Argentina, Mexico and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela residing on the island.

Saint Lucia, June 12, 2015. On June 12, 2015, members of the Committee for the Release of the Cuban Five of the Humanistic Solidarity Association (Saint Lucia – Cuba) were presented with Certificates of Recognition of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) for their efforts, along with other solidarity organizations, in securing the release of the Cuban Five: René González Sehwerert, Fernando González Llort, Gerardo Hernández Nordelo, Ramón Labañino Salazar and Antonio Guerrero Rodríguez. An activity was held on the grounds of the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Rodney Bay on Friday June 12th to mark the event. Those receiving awards were Bro. Matthew Lubin, Bro. Rossini Francois, Bro. Velon John, Bro. Maurice Moffat and Bro. Nicholas Jean Baptiste. The President of the Association, Bro. Rawle Harvey, received his award in Cuba, during the 2015 May Day Celebrations. The members of the Cuban Five are now engaged in various activities with ICAP. The occasion was also conducive to commemorate the anniversary of the birth of the Cuban revolutionaries Antonio Maceo and Ernesto Che Guevara, both born on the 14th of June, which are universal symbols of the heroism and resistance demonstrated by the Cuban people in the struggle to achieve and preserve an independent and sovereign homeland. Cuba present in Saint Lucia´s Jazz and Arts Festival

Saint Lucia, May 6, 2015. With the headline "Night of the Cubans, Hot Couture presents a sensational show", the Saint Lucian newspaper “The Star” referred to the presentation of the Cuban cast of “Arte y Moda” in the Hot Couture display of the annual Jazz and Arts Festival of Saint Lucia. The presentation of “Arte y Moda” was unforgettable. With the presence of Her Excellency the Governor General of Saint Lucia, Dame Pearlette Louisy, the Minister of Tourism of Saint Lucia, the Honourable Lorne D. C. Theophilus and before a thousand seated viewers, the Cuban designers and models linked the visual arts and fashion in a special extravaganza leaded by Cuban designers Oscar de la Portilla, Jose Luis Gonzalez, Roly and Omar, Jesus Frías, Jacqueline Fumero and Mario Freixas, all present. With their performance, the bonds of friendship and cultural cooperation between the people and artists of St. Lucia and Cuba strengthened. Bodies and costumes merged on the catwalk of Hot Couture for interpretations that unveiled art forms through dresses made with the most diverse materials, in what has been considered to be the best presentation of Hot Couture that Saint Lucia has experienced so far.
