Basseterre, April 20th, 2012. Representatives of the organizations of solidarity and friendship with Cuba – including the Cuban residents — in Saint Kitts and Nevis, today held a meeting with the Ambassador of Cuba, Jorge Payret Zubiaur, in which they received an updated information of the issues that most affect the social development and well-being of the Cuban people, highlighting their struggle for the elimination of the cruel blockade that during more than 50 years the U.S. Government has imposed. to Cuba, as well as the actions of our people for the release of the five Cuban heroes, which also have broad international support, exemplified in the 5 days for the 5´s, taking place in Washington D.C. Those present, including Embassy´s diplomatic Staff , paid tribute to the 51 anniversary of the Victory of Playa Girón and the fallen in that quest that in less than 72 hours defeated the invasion that sought to overthrow the Cuban Revolution, which just hours before had proclaimed its Socialist character.
