Press Release. Cuba reaffirms its support to the struggle of the Palestinian people at the United Nations Security Council.
New York, 21 October.- In a statement delivered on 21 October at the UN Security Council, the Cuban Ambassador, Rodolfo Reyes, reaffirmed that Cuba would continue to support the Palestinian people in their legitimate and just struggle for self-determination and the establishment of an independent Palestinian State with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The Ambassador strongly condemned the impunity of the most recent Israeli attacks and the inactivity of the Security Council regarding such actions.
In his speech, the Cuban diplomat pointed out that only the end of the colonizing policy would allow the implementation of a significant political process that brings peace to the region.
In his closing remarks, the Cuban Ambassador stressed the need to preserve sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Syria, as well as the right to self-determination of its people, without foreign intervention or interference of any kind, in the light of the attempts to use the alleged protection of human lives as pretext for foreign intervention.
