Press Release. Cuba states before CELAC the nature of the new subversive plan of the U.S. government against Cuba.
New York, United Nations, 20 August. The sustained subversive activity of the U.S. authorities against the Cuban people was denounced by the Permanent Mission of Cuba at the United Nations before the Members of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC). Cuba questioned the plan of the U.S. government against its people; details thereof have been confirmed by independent research sources and reported by the international news agency AP. The plan in question included the recruitment, training and financing of Latin-American young people, sent to Cuba with the mission of mobilizing young people who would carry out actions aimed at dismantling the constitutional order sovereignly endorsed by the Cuban people.
Cuba delivered to CELAC Members the Declaration of H.E. Mrs. Josefina Vidal Ferreiro, Director General of the United States Division, on the case. CELAC was also informed about the fact that the U.S. authorities had claimed responsibility for the implementation of this new plan, which was funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). This is a clear and blatant violation of the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations and International Law.
