Press Release. Students from different nationalities will represent Cuba in various Committees of the United Nations Model

New York, March 18. Officials of the Permanent Mission of Cuba to the United Nations had a meeting at such diplomatic premises, with 25 university and college students from different nationalities who will represent Cuba in various Committees of the Model United Nations of New York.

During the meeting, several aspects of the Cuba’s history and its relationship with the United States, as well as the priorities of the Island in terms of foreign policy and the work at the United Nations were addressed.  In this regard, the students and their professors were provided with updated information on the international rejection of the Blockade imposed on Cuba and the situation of the five Cuban anti-terrorist Heroes who are unjustly imprisoned in this country.

As part of various educational programs, hundreds of students of several countries gather annually at the United Nations Headquarters in order to hold meetings and debates, which are very similar to the working sessions of such international organization.
