New York, 8 March. Officials from the Permanent Mission of Cuba to the United Nations held a meeting at such diplomatic premises, with 25 US high school students who will represent Cuba in a Model United Nations.
During the meeting, several aspects of Cuba’s history and its relationship with the United States, as well as the priorities of the Island concerning foreign policy and the work at the United Nations were addressed. In this respect, students and teachers were provided with updated information on the international rejection of the Blockade on Cuba, and the situation of the five anti-terrorist Heroes who are unjustly imprisoned in this country.
As part of various educational programs, hundreds of students from several countries meet annually at the United Nations headquarters, in order to hold meetings and debate that reproduce the working sessions of that international organization.
