Press Release. UNITED NATIONS RESOLUTION AGAINST THE BLOCKADE.
The economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba has continued to strengthen, despite the repeated and almost unanimous call by the international community for its elimination. It remains the system of the most comprehensive and longest-standing unilateral coercive sanctions ever applied for over half a century against any country in the world.
The blockade has caused damage to the Cuban economy estimated at over one trillion dollars, and led to considerable human and material damage.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, 13 November 2012, the United Nations General Assembly will consider, for the twenty-first consecutive time, the draft resolution submitted by Cuba which demands the end of the blockade.
New York, 12 November 2012.
