THE PERMANENT MISSION OF CUBA TO THE UNITED NATIONS CELEBRATES THE OPENING OF THE 16TH EDITION OF THE MOVIE EVENT “HAVANA FILM FESTIVAL NEW YORK”
New York, April 9, 2015. The Permanent Mission of Cuba to the United Nations welcomed participants to the 16th edition of the movie event “Havana Film Festival New York” on Thursday evening, the inauguration of which took place previously in New York City with the Cuban film Boccaccerías Habaneras, by the well-known director Arturo Sotto.
Leading New York art and culture personalities jointly, with their Cuban counterparts, met in the Mission’s Protocol lounge, where they were welcomed by H.E. Mr. Rodolfo Reyes Rodríguez, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations and other diplomatic mission officials.
Those present shared with founders and executives of “Havana Film Festival New York”, such as Carole and Alex Rosenberg, Diana Vargas and Ines Aslan, as well as, important personalities of the Cuban movie theater industry as the aforementioned Arturo Sotto and Juan Carlos Cremata; another famous Cuban director of movies like “Viva Cuba” (2005).
