Kuala Lumpur, January 27- The chaired Ambassador of Cuba to Malaysia, Ibete Fernandez and the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of that country, Dato Sri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman, chaired the reception held to mark the 57th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution. The occasion was propitious to also celebrate the 41 anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
In her speech the ambassador referred to the political and socio-economic achievements obtained by Cuba in 2015 and the challenges that it will face in the future, for which she reaffirmed, the country count on the resilience and optimism of the Cuban people as well as the confidence in the Revolution. The Ambassador also thanked Malaysia its support to our country on issues of bilateral and multilateral interest for more than 4 decades.
Deputy Minister Abdul Rahman, on behalf of his government congratulated the leadership of the Revolution and the Cuban people for their achievements during 57 years and called for expanding cooperation in the future.
The celebration was attended by the Director of America of the Foreign Ministry, the Deputy Director of Protocol, leaders UMNO party that heads the ruling coalition, members of the diplomatic corps, the Association of Friendship with Cuba, academics and corporate sector and Cubans in the country.
