Kuala Lumpur, March 15- The Minister of Youth and Sports of Malaysia, Khairy Jamaluddin received the Cuban ambassador to that country, Ibete Fernández.
During the meeting the parties assessed the possibilities of cooperation in the sports sector to give content to the Cooperation Agreement signed by both countries in 2005, through which three Cuban collaborators worked in Malaysia between 2008 and 2012.
The Minister informed the willingness of his country to exchange experiences with Cuba in the practicing of badminton, sport in which Malaysia has been successful. At the same time he recalled the visit to the country the world record holder Javier Sotomayor in 2005, which called an exceptional experience.
For its part, the Cuban ambassador thanked him for his offer and informed him about the development of sports in Cuba and collaboration opportunities offered by the country.
The Minister Jamaluddin is also president of the Youth League of the ruling party, of United Malays National Organization (UMNO).
