Kuala Lumpur, April26- The governor of Malacca, Datuk Seri UtamaTunMohd Khalil Yaakob bin, received the Cuban ambassador to Malaysia, Ibete Fernández.
During the meeting the parties reviewed the traditional relations of Cuba with that Malaysian state and discussed the possibilities of relaunching the links in the cultural sector, tourism and medical cooperation.
The governor recalled his visits to Cuba and expressed his desire to return. He said he witnessed the friendship between the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro and former Prime Minister Mahatir which made possible that today Cuba and Malaysia enjoy good relations.
The ambassador in turn extended an invitation for Malacca’s businessmen traveling to Cuba to explore the current business opportunities.
