Kuala Lumpur Jan. 19 Ambassador of Cuba to Malaysia, Ibete Fernandez, gave an interview to the national news agency of Malaysia, BERNAMA, where were discussed issues related to bilateral ties and the internal situation in Cuba.
Regarding bilateral relations, the diplomat explained, the willingness of his country to expand partnerships with Malaysia on a mutually advantageous basis in those sectors that are interest to both countries.
Questioned by the press on the progress of the process of reestablishment of relations between Cuba and the United States, the Cuban ambassador reiterated that its country's will to build a new relationship with US based on respect. He also noted are unavoidable conditions for the success of the process are the end of the blockade and the return of the territory occupied by the Guantanamo Naval Base.
She also referred to the progress registered in the economic and social sectors from the implementation of the updated economic model pursued for the continuity of the socialist system, sustainable and prosperous.
