Cuban Ambassador to Laos is received by the Governor of Luang Prabang province

The Cuban Ambassador to Laos, Waldo Reyes Sardiñas was received at the City Hall of Luang Prabang province by Dr. Khampheng Saysompheng, member of the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP), first secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Governor of Luang Prabang province.
Also assisted the meeting Dr. Chaleune Yiapaoher, member of the LPRP Central Committee, Minister of Justice of the Lao government and President of the Laos-Cuba Friendship Association, as well of officials from the Central Committee Department of External Relations, the Association of Friendship and other provincial authorities.
The Governor offered a warm welcome to the Ambassador and informed about the provincial Party and government efforts to widening the development of the province and to improve the living of its people.
The capital of this province is Luang Prabang city, a historical site and former capital of the Lane Xang kingdom, and nowadays the main tourist destination of the country.
Luang Prabang village proudly carries the title of World Heritage, granted by UNESCO in 1994.
In the friendly meeting, the Cuban diplomat and the Governor talked about various issues of common interest and the ways to establish cooperation between Cuba and this Lao province.
The Ambassador informed about his country situation and the perspectives of the Cuba-Laos relations.
 
After the meeting, the Party and government leader accompanied the Ambassador and the Justice Minister to the Northern Law College, situated in Luang Prabang city, where the Cuban representative gave a lecture about the Cuban Five Heroes who have been imprisoned in the United States for almost 14 years.
The Governor also took part in the meeting organized to declare this high studies center as member of the Friendship Association Laos-Cuba.
