Photographic exhibition for the dDay of Cuban Culture in Ireland

 Ireland, October 9, 2017 A photo exhibition with images of Cuba was inaugurated on Saturday October 7 at the "Donegal Bay and Blue Stacks Festival" at the Abbey Center in the city of Ballyshannon in County Donegal.

The exhibition is the work of the artist Emer O'Shea, who took the snapshots on her trip to Cuba in 2016 and will remain open until October 28.

The inauguration was attended by numerous public and local authorities and were present Deputy Maureen O'Sullivan, Professor Simon McGuinness, national coordinator of "Cuba Support Group Ireland" and Ambassador Hermes Herrera, who at the opening referred to the importance of culture for the Cuban revolutionary process, the protection of the country's cultural heritage, highlighting the role of Cuban leader Fidel Castro, even in the harsh conditions of the US economic, commercial and financial blockade. and on the achievements of artistic education in Cuba.
This activity is also part of the Che Abú Festival which was developed in Donegal in those days. (EMBACUBA IRLANDA)

Tribute to Che on the 50th.Anniversary of this death

 Ireland, October 9, 2017. With an event called "Che abú Festival" during the days 6 to 8 of October, a heartfelt tribute to Ernesto Che Guevara took place in Ardara, County Donegal.

The event was organized by Cuba Support Group and the Cuban Embassy in Ireland and was attended by independent deputies Thomas Pringle, Maureen O'Sullivan and Catherine Connolly, among others.

Discussions were organized on the figure of Che, his economic thinking, with the participation of Dr. Helen Yaffe, British university professor, author of the book "Che Guevara, the economy of the Revolution; the sustainability of agriculture by Irish architect and university professor Simon Mc Guinness; the women's struggle with a panel that included the deputies O'Sullivan and Connolly, among others, and took place an intervention of the Counselor Ana Rosa Rojas.

The event was inaugurated by Congressman Thomas Pringle and Ambassador Hermes Herrera, who in addition to referring to the figure of the Heroic Guerrilla, paid tribute to the historic Leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro Ruz and referred to the criminal economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba imposed arbitrarily by the USA.

During the speeches were emphasized the validity of Che's thinking in the Cuban Revolution and expressed feelings of admiration and affection towards the great figure of the revolutionary of universal stature.

The closing of the event took place in the typical Irish town of Glencolmcille, nestled in an area where Irish native language is spoken. (CUBAMINREX-EMBACUBA IRLANDA).

Tribute to Che in Ireland 50 th years after his assassination

 Organized by Cuban Support Group Ireland and the Cuban Embassy, the Che Abú Festival (Che forever) will be held celebrating the life and legacy of Ernesto Che Guevara.
The Nesbitt Arms Hotel, Ardara, Co. Donegal, on October 6, 7 and 8, 2017 will feature an extensive program including National and International Speakers, Music, Dance and films.

Participates The Cuban Embassy in celebration of Day E in Dublin

 Ireland, June 24, 2017 The Cuban Embassy participated in Day E activities at the Instituto Cervantes in Dublin.
Day E or Spanish Day is a festive commemoration promoted by the Instituto Cervantes whose aim is to spread the Spanish culture, celebrate its importance in the world and encourage the unity of its speakers.
During the day there were children's activities, readings, competition and the gastronomic fair. In this last one the Embassy offered of the Cuban kitchen, the dish "tambor de malanga" with hash and the traditional "mojitos" which had good acceptance of the participants.
It was also an occasion to spread popular Cuban locutions, distributing materials with "Examples of Cubanisms" extracted from ECURED, the Cuban Collaborative Encyclopedia and highlight the prize received by it in Category No. 3 of the World Summit of the Americas Information Society "that were granted last June 13 in Geneva. Participation in Dublin Tourism Fair

Ireland, January 30, 2017. Cuba was represented at the Holiday World Show in Dublin, Ireland's largest tourism promotion event, held on 27th, 28th and 29th of this month.

The attendees could enjoy videos that showed the natural and architectural beauties of Cuba in addition to the usual printed material.

The stand of Cuba was very popular given the interest of the Irish to visit our country, who received the information requested about the destination.

The Cuban stand was attended by Ambassador Hermes Herrera; Joel Hernández, Tourism Counselor for the United Kingdom and Ireland, Carlos Alberto Benítez, Director of Havanatour UK Ltd, and other officials of the Cuban Embassy in Ireland and the London Tourist Office (Cubaminrex-Embacuba Ireland)

Ends The Cuban Film Festival Dublin 2016

 Ireland, June 6, 2016. Cuban Film Festival Dublin 2016, concluded after three days in The Ireland Institute of this city.

This second edition of the Festival included the presentation of the short The Last Days of Home, the animated The Moon in the Garden and length documentary Never ever Neverland. Among the fiction films The Beauty of the Alhambra, With you Bread and Onion and Boccacchios in Havana presented.

As part of the audience were present the deputy Maureen O'Sullivan, ambassadors and other members of the diplomatic corps, Cuban residents in Ireland and the staff of the Cuban mission.

Ambassador greeted those present and thanked all those who made possible the realization of this event and made a brief comment on the historical contexts of Never ever Neverland documentary and The Beauty of the Alhambra film. (Cubaminrex- EmbacubaIrlanda).

Celebration in Dublin the start of the Seventh Party Congress and the 55 th anniversary of the Victory of Playa Girón

 Ireland, April 18, 2016. On the evening of Saturday 16th a friendly meeting took place at the residence of Cuba in Ireland for the 55th Anniversary of the Victory of Playa Girón, the declaration of the socialist character of the Revolution and the beginning of the VII Congress Party.

Representatives of different groups of solidarity with Cuba in Ireland and of the political forces that jointly support the cause of the Cuban Revolution, including: Eugene Mc Cartan, Secretary General of the Communist Party of Ireland; Seán Crowe, deputy and Sinn Fein Party spokesman for Foreign Affairs, Trade and Defence in the Irish Parliament; Frank Connolly, director of Communications of SIPTU, representing Jack O'Connor, General President of this important union; Simon McGuinness, National Coordinator of Cuba Support Group; Jack McGinley, president of SIPTU Solidarity with Cuba Forum; Marie Barry, president of the Irish Committee for the Campaign for the Release of the Five ; the Ambassador of Palestine in Ireland and  board members of the Association of Cuban Residents in Ireland "Ernesto Che Guevara".

Ambassador Hermes Herrera stressed the importance of events that celebrate this meeting and the continuation of solidarity with Cuba in the new circumstances in the country with the updating of its economic model, the beginning of a process towards normalization of relations with the US and the persistence of the economic, commercial and financial blockade for over half a century arbitrarily set by the US government. Greetings to the VII Congress of the PCC

Ireland 14 April 2016. The staff of the Embassy of Cuba in Ireland greets the VII Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) to be held between 16 and 19 April 2016.
On the 16th is commemorated the 55 Anniversary of the Declaration  of the socialist character of the Revolution and the founding date of our Party.
This momentous event will fix the way to continue to improve our economic and social model and elect the members of the Central Committee.(Cubaminrex-Embacuba Irlanda)
