Embassy of Cuba discusses possibilities for cooperation with NGOs from Indonesia

Indonesia, 16 February 2016. The Ambassador of Cuba in Indonesia Nirsia Castro Guevara received a group of executives of NGOs in order to explore possible cooperation projects with Cuba in the field of care and environmental protection, especially of marine ecosystems.

During the meeting both sides agreed on the urgent need to protect nature and the important role both nations can play in their insular condition, for common development in this sphere. Cuba, with extensive experience, is an example and a source of knowledge for the Indonesian environmental organizations whose main interest is through cooperation projects bring the two countries into a common goal, the preservation of nature.

On the Indonesian side was present as well a member of the community of Cuban residents in the country, with extensive experience in the field and that serves as a consultant and advisor to these organizations.

Among the main results, it was agreed to continue working to develop ties of cooperation and identify specific projects that help to advance this interest, as well as the participation of the Embassy in events to promote environmental education and achievements of Cuba in this area.
