56 Anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations between Indonesia and Cuba

The 22nd of January 1960, President of the Republic of Indonesia, Sukarno, began a visit to Cuba, thus sealing the beginning of bilateral relations. Since then, both countries have developed diplomatic ties marked mainly in the bilateral sphere for cooperation and in the multilateral area by the confluence of positions in international bodies such as the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), of which both are founders, and the G77, among others.

Currently, a good bilateral relationship is maintained and there is mutual interest in advancing economic ties and cooperation in areas such as health, sports and biotechnology.

The Embassy of Cuba wishes to congratulate and thank all the people who have been involved in one way or another in the development of relations between Indonesia and Cuba.
