Ambassador of Cuba to the UN Office in Geneva meets with ITU Deputy Secretary-General.
Geneva, March 7, 2016. A few days before the arrival in Cuba of the Deputy Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Mr. Malcolm Johnson, to attend the Sixteenth International Convention and Fair “Informatics 2016”, he held a meeting with the Cuban Ambassador in Geneva, Anayansi Rodriguez Camejo, in order to address details of his participation in this important event organized by the Ministry of Communications, from March 14 to 18.
Scientists, academics and entrepreneurs in the field of information technology and communications from various countries and international institutions will attend this event to present their experiences and best practices and promote business opportunities.
The event's theme this year is "Connecting Societies" and will include various lectures, panels and roundtables to be held in the Convention Center in Havana.
Mr. Johnson acknowledged the prestige of Cuba in the field of skills and knowledge of the Information Technology and Communications (ITCs) and, meanwhile, Ambassador Rodriguez Camejo, reaffirmed the commitment and activism of the country on various issues addressed by the International Telecommunication Union and explained the efforts being made in the process of computerization of the Cuban society.
