The Secretary-General of the International Civil Defense Organization sends a message of condolences on the decease of the Leader of the Cuban Revolution, Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.
Geneva, 30 November 2016. The Secretary-General of the International Civil Defense Organization (ICDO), Vladimir Kuvshinov, transmitted on behalf of all the member states and observers of the Organization the heartfelt condolences to the National Civil Defense General Staff (EMNDC, for its acronym in Spanish) and to the Cuban government and people for the physical loss of the Leader of the Cuban Revolution.
In the letter sent on November 29 to the head of the EMNDC, Major General Ramón Pardo Guerra, the Secretary-General of the ICDO refers to Fidel as one of the most iconic personalities of the 20th century, who devoted all his life to the Cuban people, to its well-being and its prosperity. He also highlighted his continuous support and solidarity to build a better world, indicating that his legacy will mark the future of Cuba and Latin America.
