The Chairman of the Board of the South Centre conveyed a message of condolences on the decease of the Historical Leader of the Cuban Revolution, Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz. 

Geneva, November 30, 2016. The President of the Board of the South Centre, Benjamin William Mkapa, transmitted on behalf of the Board and the staff of the Secretariat the deepest condolences to the Government and people of Cuba and joined in their mourning on the decease of Fidel, whom he described as one of the greatest leaders of the South. 

In the letter sent dated November 28 to the President of the Councils of State and Ministers of the Republic of Cuba, Raul Castro Ruz, the Chairman of the Board of the South Centre refers to the Commander-in-Chief as one of the most visionary leaders of our contemporary history, a great thinker and a tireless combatant against social injustice and for a fair and equitable world order.
