 The Secretary-General and the President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union conveyed their condolences for the decease of the Cuban Revolutionary Leader, Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.

Geneva, November 28, 2016. The Secretary-General, Martin Chungong and the President, Saber H. Chowdhury, of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), expressed their sincere condolences on behalf of the organization for the decease of the Cuban revolutionary leader, with the request to extend them to his relatives and the Cuban people.

In the letter, addressed to the President of the National Assembly of the People's Power, Esteban Lazo Hernández, the qualities of Fidel as a leader and his tireless work for justice and peace in the world are exalted, while reminding the speech pronounced by the Cuban leader in the 105th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, held in Havana in April 2001, describing his words as inspiring.
