President of Cuba met with U.S. solidarity activist
Havana, 3 June 2021. President Miguel Díaz-Canel met with the executive director of IFCO-Pastors for Peace, Gail Walker, to whom he said belongs a story of solidarity with Cuba.
In his Twitter account, the president expressed his satisfaction with the new meeting on Thursday and evoked Gail's father, the late Reverend Lucius Walker, whom he described as a friend of Fidel Castro and Cuba.
Cuban biotechnology: Sword and shield against Covid-19
Havana, 3 June 2021. Five vaccine candidates, immunomodulators, antiviral products, anti-inflammatories, serological or molecular diagnostics and medical teams are currently making up the 27 projects developed by Cuba to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.
'Having sovereignty in treating the disease has been our country´s premise since the beginning of the pandemic,' Eduardo Martínez, president of the Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Industries Group, said at a press conference.
Raul Castro, a benchmark for revolutionaries in Cuba, president says
Havana, 3 June 2021. Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel on Thursday congratulated Army General Raul Castro on his 90th birthday, and described him as a benchmark for any communist and revolutionary. On his Twitter account, the head of State pointed out that Raul Castro, brother in blood and ideas of the historic leader, Fidel Castro, and his best disciple, is also a prominent political creator. 'The work undertaken under his leadership of the country in the last decade is colossal.
