Blockade: a six-decade old reality in Cuba

New York, January 18th, 2022. On February 3rd, 1962, the President of the United States at that time, John F. Kennedy, proclaimed the "embargo" on all trade between the United States and Cuba, in compliance with section 620 (a) of the Foreign Assistance Act. That proclamation would go down in history as Presidential Proclamation 3447 and would make the economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba official, which has been maintained as the backbone of the U.S.

Number of anti-Covid-19 doses administered in Cuba rises

Havana, 18 January 2022. A total of 32 million 942 thousand 89 doses of national vaccines against the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which causes Covid-19, have been administered in Cuba to date, the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap) reported today.

According to Minsap, 10 million 526 thousand 575 people received one dose of the Cuban immunizers, while 9 million 328 thousand 259 have already received the second dose and 8 million 988 thousand 331 the third.

U.S. funding of subversive projects in Cuba denounced

Havana, 17 January 2022. The financing dedicated by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) to subversion against Cuba benefited more than 40 organizations, according to the most recient figures disclosed today by the Granma newspaper.

Since its inception, this organization has functioned as the economic arm of the U.S government´s interference policy, along with the U.S Agency for International Development (USAID), for the benefit of the non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
