On February 1-2, the Cuban business delegation visited the city of Tampa in the State of Florida.
During their stay there, the Cuban senior business representatives toured the Port of Tampa Bay and met with the Port’s Deputy Director, Raúl Alfonso, and with other authorities thereof.
They also held a meeting with businessmen from different sectors and exchanged information on the foreign trade activity in Cuba, the priorities for foreign investment on the island, Mariel Special Development Zone, among other topics.
In the framework of the visit to Tampa, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the National Port Administration of Cuba and the Port of Mobile, in Alabama.
The Cuban delegation also participated in the Conference Planning for a Shifting Trade, hosted by the American Association of Port Authorities and met with representatives of the Tampa Chamber of Commerce and with Mark Mc Andrews, Chairman of the Gulf Ports Association of the Americas.
