CUBA, January 12, 2017. On this Thursday, January 12, the third government-to-government claim discussion was held in Havana between representatives of Cuba and the United States. The Cuban delegation was led by Abelardo Moreno Fernández, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs while the US delegation was led by Brian Egan, the State Department Legal Adviser.

Cuba and Chicago begin collaboration in Health Care

With the visit by 3 Cuban experts to Chicago, a collaboration project begun on January 9 between Illinois University and the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba (MINSAP), as part of which Cuban and US professionals will work in the assessment of the health care delivered in underserved and cash-strapped communities in Chicago, with a view to proposing actions that will contribute to the betterment of their health indicators.

Cuba and the United States sign Agreement on Cooperation on Oil Pollution Preparedness and Response

CUBA, January 9, 2017. The governments of Cuba and the United States signed an Agreement on Cooperation between the United States of America and the Republic of Cuba on the preparedness and response to the pollution caused by the discharges of hydrocarbons and other hazardous and potentially dangerous substances in the Gulf of Mexico and the Florida Straight on Monday, January 9. The document was signed by the Deputy Minister for Development of the Ministry of Transportation (MITRANS), Eduardo Rodríguez Dávila and the Chargé d’ Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of the United States in Havana, Jeffrey DeLaurentis.
