Port Administration of Cuba signs Memorandum of Understanding with US Port of Mobile

On February 2, the National Port Administration of Cuba and Port of Mobile, in Alabama, signed a Memorandum of Understanding that will contribute to the exchange of information and development of joint initiatives for market assessment, exchange of data, training, technological modernization and exchange. 
 
The agreement was signed by René Rolando Fernández, Director of Maritime and Inland Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation of Cuba, and James K. Lyons, Executive Director of the Port Authority of the State of Alabama. 
 
This is the fifth Memorandum of Understanding signed between the US ports and the Port Administration of Cuba and the first signed in US territory. The previous agreements of this type were signed in Havana in 2016, with the ports of Virginia, New Orleans, Lake Charles and South Louisiana.
