6TH CONVENTION OF THE CANADIAN NETWORK OF SOLIDARITY WITH CUBA HELD IN TORONTO

Toronto May 21st, 2013. In the Toronto City Hall took place on May 18, 19 and 20, the 6th Biennial Convention of the Canadian Network on Cuba (CNC). For three intense and fruitful days the conference reviewed the actions and initiatives of solidarity and support for the Cuban Revolution and the battle for the liberation of our Five Heroes. As part of the opening ceremony, the event paid tribute to Commander Hugo Chavez Frias.

Toronto, May 21st, 2013. - The presentation of the Essay “Revolution and Race” by Professor Esteban Morales Domínguez took place in this city on Friday May 17th at the bookstore "A Different Booklist". The book presentation was made by Keith Ellis, professor emeritus at York University and renowned specialist in Cuba, and Isaac Saney, professor at Halifax University and scholar of Cuba, who is currently working on the book "From Soweto to Cuito Cuanavale: Cuba, the war in Angola and southern Africa Liberation ".

CONSUL GENERAL OF CUBA IN TORONTO HOLDS MEETING WITH MAYOR OF WINDSOR.

Windsor, May 13th, 2013. The Consul General of Cuba in Toronto, Javier Domokos Ruiz, was received by Mr. Eddie Francis, Mayor of the city of Windsor, Ontario, who held a lively exchange on various issues of common interest.
The meeting, scheduled as a courtesy call visit by the Cuban diplomat to the authorities on his first visit to the city, served to provide a brief overview of the relations between Cuba and Canada and the potential that exists to strengthen trade relations and exchanges between the two peoples in the cultural, academic and sports fields.

Windsor, May 12th, 2013. Organized by the Canada Cuba Friendship Association - Windsor, Ontario, the Fourth Annual Mayworks Windsor was held in solidarity with the Cuban Revolution and was attended by a large group of its members, many of whom traveled from the neighboring city of Detroit, USA.

6TH MEETING OF CUBAN RESIDENTS IN CANADA CELEBRATED IN TORONTO.

Toronto, May 4th, 2013.- Organized by the Association of Cuban Residents in Toronto "Juan Gualberto Gómez" the Sixth National Meeting of Cuban Residents in Canada was held. The event, which has the presence of the Cuban Ambassador in Canada His Excellency Julio Garmendia and the Cuban Consular Corps accredited in Canada, was attended by representatives of Cuban residents organizations and Canadian associations of Solidarity with Cuba, some of whom were honored for their meritorious work in solidarity for Cuba for many years and for the support in the struggle for the liberation of the Five Cuban heroes unjustly imprisoned in US jails.
