CONSUL GENERAL OF CUBA IN TORONTO HOLDS MEETING WITH MAYOR OF WINDSOR.

Windsor, May 13th, 2013. The Consul General of Cuba in Toronto, Javier Domokos Ruiz, was received by Mr. Eddie Francis, Mayor of the city of Windsor, Ontario, who held a lively exchange on various issues of common interest.
The meeting, scheduled as a courtesy call visit by the Cuban diplomat to the authorities on his first visit to the city, served to provide a brief overview of the relations between Cuba and Canada and the potential that exists to strengthen trade relations and exchanges between the two peoples in the cultural, academic and sports fields.

Windsor, May 12th, 2013. Organized by the Canada Cuba Friendship Association - Windsor, Ontario, the Fourth Annual Mayworks Windsor was held in solidarity with the Cuban Revolution and was attended by a large group of its members, many of whom traveled from the neighboring city of Detroit, USA.

6TH MEETING OF CUBAN RESIDENTS IN CANADA CELEBRATED IN TORONTO.

Toronto, May 4th, 2013.- Organized by the Association of Cuban Residents in Toronto "Juan Gualberto Gómez" the Sixth National Meeting of Cuban Residents in Canada was held. The event, which has the presence of the Cuban Ambassador in Canada His Excellency Julio Garmendia and the Cuban Consular Corps accredited in Canada, was attended by representatives of Cuban residents organizations and Canadian associations of Solidarity with Cuba, some of whom were honored for their meritorious work in solidarity for Cuba for many years and for the support in the struggle for the liberation of the Five Cuban heroes unjustly imprisoned in US jails.

Toronto, May 7th, 2013.- A tribute to the father of Cuban ballet, maestro Fernando Alonso, was paid by the National Ballet School of Canada and the Canadian company Sherritt International Corporation, as part of the dance festival Assemblee Internationale 2013 that took place last week in this city, with the attendance of a delegation from the National Ballet School of Cuba and another 17 first-rate ballet schools from around the world.

CANADIAN TRADE UNIONS EXPRESS THEIR SOLIDARITY WITH THEIR CUBAN PAIRS ON MAY DAY.

Toronto, April 29th, 2013. As part of the celebrations for May Day in this city, on Sunday April 28 took place at the Headquarters of the United Steelworkers, one event organized by the United May Day Committee. This committee is composed of organizations of solidarity with Cuba, Venezuela, the Communist Party of Canada, the CCFA-Toronto, the Steel Union, the Postal Union, among others. The were various leftist political organizations and unions present that support the celebration of this date and for which they have prepared a number of activities (marches, political, cultural, ect) between May 1st and 15th here in Toronto.
