Cambodia mesmerized by the Ballet Nacional de Cuba

Phonm Penh August 28th, 2016. Viengsay Valdés, Prima Ballerina of the Ballet National of Cuba, enchanted with his refined technique and charm to the Cambodian public. In her presentation in the theatre of conferences Chaktomuk of Phnom Penh, the talented Viengsay interpreted fragments of recognized pieces like Sylphs, The Death of the Swan, Don Quixote and a more contemporary one entitled Dan-Son, with distinctive Cuban flavor. 
Among those who went to enjoy her refined art were The King of Cambodia Norodom Sihamoni and the Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sikanouk. Our excel Ballerina was received with affection by an audience that for the first time in the history of relations between the two Countries could enjoy live the singular quality of the Cuban Ballet. Valdés made her presentation with the also talented young Partener Carlos Patricio Revé.

The Revolutionary Government of the Republic of Cuba strongly rejects the parliamentary and judicial coup d’état perpetrated against President Dilma Rousseff.
The Government’s estrangement from the President, without presenting any evidence of corruption or crimes of responsibility against her, as well as from the Workers’ Party (PT) and other left-wing allied political forces, is an act of defiance against the sovereign will of the people who voted for her.
The governments headed by Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Dilma Rousseff implemented a socio-economic model that made it possible for Brazil to take a step forward in areas such as production growth with social inclusion, the creation of jobs, the fight against poverty, the eradication of extreme poverty among more than 35 million Brazilians who used to live in inhumane conditions and income increase for another 40 million; the expansion of opportunities in the areas of education and health for the people, including those sectors who had been previously marginalized.çDuring this period, Brazil has been an active promoter of Latin American and Caribbean integration.  The defeat of the Free Trade Agreement of the Americas (FTAA), the celebration of the Latin American and Caribbean Summit on Integration and Development (CALC) which led to the creation of CELAC and foundation of UNASUR are transcendental events in the recent history of the region which show the leading role played by that country.

President of Cambodia Senate calls to strengthen relations with Cuba.

Cambodia, March 1, 2016. - President of Cambodia Senate, Samdech Vibol Seine Pheakdei Say Chhum, reiterated its support for the strengthening of ties with Cuba, during a meeting held with Cuban Ambassador Juan de Jesus Hidalgo-Gato Perez. Similarly, Say Chhum thanked for the historic assistance his country received from Cuba in human resource formation and advocated for expanding bilateral cooperation to other areas for the benefit of both the peoples.

President of the National Assembly of Cambodia calls to eliminate the blockade against Cuba.

Cambodia, 1st March, 2016. -The President of the National Assembly of Cambodia, Heng Samrin, called to eliminate the economic, financial and commercial blockade of the United States against Cuba and reiterated the position of Cambodia against the economic sanctions that affect the development of the Cuban people. 
The Assembly President conveyed his support for Cuba during a meeting held with Cuban Ambassador Juan de Jesus Hidalgo-Gato Perez, at the headquarters of the National Assembly.  Local media gave coverage to these statements of the Head of the Chamber while highlightening the historical relations that both the Countries have grown by more than half a century. more..

Cambodia National Assembly President for strengthening bilateral relations with Cuba

Cambodia, February 29, 2016.- Heng Samrin, President of the Cambodian Parliament called for strengthening bilateral relations with Cuba during a meeting held with Cuban Ambassador Juan de Jesus Hidalgo-Gato Perez at the National Assembly. The head of the legislative branch also thanked the Government and the Cuban people for the help received from the Island after the victory over the Polpot regime in 1979, as well as by the continuation of the scholarships program for young Cambodians offered by Cuba. 
Both sides congratulated themselves for the good health of relations between the two countries and reiterated their willingness to continue working for its strengthening. Samrin highlighted the potential that exists to further develop ties between both the parliaments, and expressed interest in working together to achieve that goal.
