Arrived in Cuba new Medicine carrier scholars from Botswana

Botswana, August 29, 2014 The three Batswana students who were awarded scholarships to study medicine in the Latin American School for Medicine (ELAM) for the academic year 2014-2015 arrived in Havana this week, where they were received by officials and authorities of the prestigious international higher education center of the Cuban capital city, which host several thousand scholars from Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa, Asia and other regions.

Botswana commemorate the 61st anniversary of the glorious deeds of July 26

 Botswana, July 26 2014.- The Cuban health and sport cooperants in Botswana together with Cuba’s friends recalled the 61 anniversary of the attacks on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Garrisons, with political and cultural events in the eight districts where the Cuban internationalists render their services in this African country.

 Botswana, June 19, 2014. The Botswana Deputy Minister of Health, Thandie Kgosiesele, received in a working visit the Cuban Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Juan Carlos Arencibia Corrales, with whom held a fruitful exchange of views on issues of common interest in the health sector, in particular, the current state of Cuban medical cooperation in the sister African country and compliance with the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two sides in August 2012.

Juan Carlos Arencibia Corrales, was received in a courtesy call by Dr. Stergomena Lawrence Tax, Executive Secretary of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC), to whom ratified once again the political will of Cuba to strengthen bilateral cooperation ties with the 15 member countries of the said subregional organization, as well as with the SADC Secretariat that is headquartered in Gaborone.

Made a visit to the referral hospital and meeting with Cuban collaborators in the district of Francistown

Botswana, May 28, 2014. On the occasion of the official visit to the district of Francistown, Cuban Ambassador to Botswana, H.E. Mr. Juan Carlos Arencibia Corrales and his accompanying delegation held a working meeting with health officials and toured the facilities of the reference hospital Nyangawe where members of the Cuban Medical Brigade in the town render their services.
